End of half term

Dear parents,

I can’t believe we are into our final week of this half term. The past few weeks have flown by and we have really got stuck into our themes All about me and Autumn. We will finish off our Autumn theme this week with some more autumnal activities. We finish on Friday 20th October and return on Monday 30th.

Laura’s explorers

Don’t forget we now have Laura’s explorers every Wednesday morning at 11am except the first Weds of each month which is Hannah from wishhanger wild school. We are so lucky to have an amazing garden space that is perfect for these activities and exploring the world around us. Please send your child in with appropriate clothing to change into and make sure you pack spare clothes in their bags.

Nativity

Sorry we know it’s early but we wanted to give you as much notice as possible for our nativity play which will be on Monday 11th Dec at 10.30. Save the date!

Photography

Adela photography will be coming back to take photos of the children again this year at the park in south gardens on Monday 30th October. We will be taking the children down in small groups and if your child is not normally in that day or you have a sibling you would like them to have a photo with then please do come along. We will be there from around 9.30-11.30am. The photos last year were stunning and they make great Christmas gifts!

Focus sheets

After half term we will begin our focus weeks again. This means each child becomes a focus once every term and we take a deep dive into their progress, learning style and next steps. They will then have a focus write up on tapestry and we encourage you to meet with your child’s key person to discuss this. A list of children and their key person is listed on the board in the entrance hall if you do not already know. Some may have changed since last term as their relationship with different members of staff has developed.

Tapestry

Don’t forget you can add pictures and videos of things your child gets up to when they are not at preschool. We love to see them and it helps us build up a better picture of what your child likes doing at home. You can also like and comment on anything we put on.

Nits

Please make sure you keep checking your child’s hair for nits and treat if needed. There seems to be a lot of cases this year at preschool which is not normally something we come across. All it takes is for one child not to be treated and the cycle begins again. Most treatments only take a few minutes but please follow up with checking the hair daily and treating again if necessary two weeks later.

If you have any questions at all then please chat to a member of staff.

Have a great week.

Leanne and team
