Who’s footprints are these?

We hope you all had a great half term. How lovely to see so much sunshine and really feel like spring is coming!

This half term we are exploring “Who’s footprints are these?”

This will begin with dinosaurs, a very firm favourite of the children’s. We will begin our exploring with a swamp of green jelly and matching the correct footprints to the correct dinosaurs. We will become palaeontologists looking for dinosaur bones and fossils. What a great fun week we have planned. Please make sure you send spare clothing with your child as this is likely to get messy!

Focus weeks

Each activity we plan and the areas of learning we set out, focuses on offering extended learning for each child depending on their age and stage. This is all done through good quality interactions between staff and children during their play and knowing each child’s strengths and areas of development. This is why we ask you to fill in the focus sheet for your child once each term to help us build a bigger picture of their home life, interests and development at home. We really value your input and thank you for returning these in time for your child’s focus week.

Garden spruce up

On Tues the 4th April we will be heading into preschool to jazz up our garden. We have painting, cleaning, maintenance and much more to get done so if anybody can give up any time to help it would be much appreciated. Children would be welcome to help to. Thanks in advance.

Ducks

Every year we take part in the living eggs project. This year we will be hatching ducklings! This is so exciting and one we have not done before. It really gives the children a hands on real life experience of life cycles. If anybody would like to re-home any of our ducklings or know anybody who would then please let us know.

The eggs will arrive on Monday 6th March.

World book day

World book day is coming up on the 2nd March. We celebrate our love of books with the children all year round but if they would like to dress up any day that week and bring in their favourite books they are very welcome too. Staff will be dressing up on Friday 3rd to join in the fun. We will also have a book token for each child.

Welly Weds

This half term Hannah is joining us on 1st and and 29th March for forest sessions. The others will be run by the staff team. Please continue to send your child in ready to head outside every weds as before.

Extra activities

Diddi dance continue to join us on a Tuesday afternoon 1-1.30 and Susie’s songtime will be every Friday 9-9.45. The children love these activities and if you can contribute at all then we would be very grateful. Each activity works out at £3 per child, per activity, per week.

Mother’s Day cake and cuppa

On Friday 17th March we would like to invite all of our mums in to have a cup of tea and a slice of cake to celebrate Mother’s Day. Please let us know if you can make it. This will be from 8.30 until around 9.30. The children will be making some little secret gifts for you too.

Have a great first week back everybody.
